Building business model in new markets by pre-accelerating and developing clients’ ideas

Customer challenge

The company generates and distributes renewable energy, electricity, gas, integrated water supply, and waste management services. As in most established organizations, among the 13.000+ employees hide several innovators and (corporate) entrepreneurs.

To unlock their creativity, the company had launched an innovation contest, that led to the selection of a few high-potential ideas. Among them, 2 aimed at entering in new markets, but needed market research and segmentation to develop a business model and a value proposition.

The client engaged us to carry these project from ideas stage to fully developed project concepts.

Our results

Corporate Hangar partnered with the client in identifying a viable business model for the selected ideas, studying the market, validating several different value propositions for each client segment therefore transforming innovative ideas into marketable services and products.

We worked in tight partnership with the innovators that originally submitted the ideas into the company’s’ innovation contest, offering them both the opportunity to see their project grow, but also exposure to a highly dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

During the pre-acceleration we also identified a pipeline of clients that have been reached to both validate the selected value proposition and collect their interest in buying or piloting the solution once developed. Currently the company has plans to enter these new markets following the strategy and action plan proposed by CH.
